Lotte Bender
A fine artist and illustrator from Kildorrery, Co. Cork
About Me
Lotte Bender is a visual artist and illustrator based in Ballynoulty, Kildorrery. A Limerick School of Art and Design graduate she has a degree in sculpture and combined media and masters in social practice and the creative environment.
Lotte has worked on projects both in Ireland and internationally. Most notably taking the socially engaged art project Street Line Critics to Helsinki, Finland as part of the Pixelache Festival and Gaming the System.
She has exhibited and run events in collaboration with The Hunt Museum (Limerick), Ormston House (Limerick), 126 Gallery (Galway) and The Model (Sligo).
Working predominantly in watercolours, Lotte’s inspiration is drawn from her experience of living and farming in the countryside, with nature and animals often taking centre stage.
In her illustrations and children’s picture books, Lotte explores life, combining childlike fascination with prevalent world issues. Wrapping a subtle message into an exciting adventure story.

Lotte is a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland.
